FAQ
The Non-Negotiables (Read These First)
Shared living works best when everyone knows what to expect. These are the basics of how we keep things running smoothly around here. Nothing wild — just a few house rules to help make sure everyone’s on the same page and enjoying their time at Fun House Austin.
The House Rules
- No Pets: We love animals — but with shared living, it just works better to keep things pet-free.
- Whole Months Only: Our goal is to rent whole months only. If we have an empty room we'll prorate you to the move in date but its whole months only from there.
- All Bills Included: Your rent covers everything — electric, water, trash, and fast Google Fiber internet. No surprise costs, no splitting bills with strangers.
- Monthly Cleaning: We bring in professional cleaners once a month to clean the entire house.
- Fast & Reliable WiFi: Every house is hooked up with Google Fiber, so you’ll have no trouble working from home or streaming your favorite shows.
- One Person Per Room: Our spaces are designed for single occupancy — one person per room helps keep things comfortable for everyone.
- Deposit: We require a $750 deposit to reserve your spot and then you don't pay your first months rent until you move in.
- Bring Your Own Sheets & Towels: Our rooms come furnished, but you’ll want to bring your own sheets and towels.
- Background & Credit Check: We do run a quick background and credit check on all tenants — just part of keeping a safe and respectful community. We'll do this after a video interview and before the in person tour.
Moving Out? Here’s How It Works:
- Pay rent on the 1st of your final month
- Give us a heads-up that it’ll be your last month
- Move out by noon on the last day of the month
- Leave your space in good shape to get your full deposit back
