I’ll host your river party

One of the best perks of staying at the houses is you get unlimited kayaking and Paddleboard tours too! Some people even pickup gig work guiding. I wish someone had this for me when I arrived!

Joel moved in a few hours ago. Already riding a house scooter and on a giant Paddleboard tour of the bats. Welcome Joel!

1/19/23 - We hosted storytelling session around a fire on an island downtown. We ferried 33 people out on the giant stand up Paddleboard with electric motor. I’ve hosted parties on that island since 2009 and I can say we finally have the logistics down. We’re planning to host a storytelling event once a month for the rest of the year. We’ll announce February’s event date soon.

It felt good to surf the river tonight. It’s been too long. Lets organize another trip soon.

May 11th - San Marcos Riverday with current and past tenants. We surfed, body boarded, played can jam, and played tennis then went for a long walk along the river To a new restaurant.

Another NC trip in the books. Let’s do it again soon.

Glow golf on fat tire e-bikes is how it’s done

One of the things I’m most proud of is building relationships that last years longer than the room rentals. If you’ve moved to austin in the last 10 years chances are you’ve greatly benefited from the house rentals and built lasting relationships with great people because of them. The fun outside the houses is the best part. Thanks to capitan drew for always allowing friends to join his sailing adventures. Pictured here are several old tenants and friends sailing the cost of Mexico. I hope to meet up with them in Belize soon!

Played in my first disc golf tournament today and was grouped with the 2018 world champion Greg Barsby. Took it easy on him.

Tuesday night fire on a sandbar catching up with friends. This was fun and easy to host. Centrally located, etc. Let’s do it more often.

Birthdays at Russian House

Alright, I’ll expand beyond my one little street in Austin. Our Asheville properties should be usable this summer and epic by summer 2023. Working on a barndaminium with indoor pickleball court / multi sport gym walkable to the falls with a lot of amenities being contributed from a strategic land purchase inside one of the resort neighborhoods. So we’ll have redneck toys on land with no rules and waterfalls across the street and access to the yuppy stuff around the corner too.

Fun fact: I’ve seen a pair of bald eagles on the last 3 overnight canoe trips just a few miles east of Austin .

@tylerpriest shared his story of hiking the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada. Let’s do more backyard story nights! I always say that.

Pinkston and Jeremy moved into separate houses a few minutes apart. 45 min after arriving to Austin we were already on glow Paddleboards backstage ACL for George straight. Lol. Welcome Pinkston and Jeremy! Travis and Stephan are visiting from Tennessee for MOTO GP too.

Take your friends on a bike ride. Tell them you wanna get a photo of them with the giraffe. Set them up under it at (hour):59 and giraffe will pee on them when the clock switches to the next hour

I always tell people to book as soon as you know it’s a good deal. (Even if it’s not my spot). This guy saved $200 last month by booking someone else’s dead end sublet and now doesn’t have anywhere to go this month. Quit house hopping and stay a place where you get to choose the end date. (But just don’t ask me for a spot anytime soon.)

We took out over 70 people to see the bats and fireworks from the water for the 4th of July. We also fed everyone pizza with the classic “lower it from the bridge on a rope” special delivery. Flawless execution on the whole night and it was great to share it with friends, family, and tourists alike. Already planning for next year.

When it floods we get to whitewater kayak near downtown Austin. You know I’m not going to miss out. @nickgraynews jumped on with me last minute.

An old tenants wife is from Czech and she’s trying to teach us all their traditions. They don’t leave it up to a groundhog to decide when winter is over - the burn a witch and declare it spring! So we had a witch burning party. In the pouring rain. Then it turned into a dance party after dark thanks to capitan Drew’s laser.

Night paddle with new to Austin tenants and one parodical son. Benji returns after a 3 year hiatus. A lot of friends getting back into town.

Ultimate frisbee at Zilker 4-11-21

I’ve hosted this ski trip since 2007 with only one year missed. We had a great week in Colorado end of March 2021 with lots of powder. Always good to keep traditions with good friends.

March is probably my favorite month in Austin. Perfect weather and yard games. I love games and have basketball and disc golf permanently setup - now we added Pickleball!

Unlike taz, Ben flew to Cancun like Ted Cruz to join drew and crew on the sailboat. Alright im jealous! The sailboat is currently near Cancun which is the easiest place to visit along the whole route.

I started carrying the Firepit to the street during the worst of COVID paranoia so neighbors could impromptu hang safely and brought it back for the snow day.

55 degrees on a Tuesday morning = great river day. Gotta love the spring water which is warm all year. I got a few new boards let’s go a lot after the cold front.

We did see a bald eagle and I see one almost every time down that river now... keep seeing these river whales that make their way up from the coast too.
