One of the best parts about living at Fun House Austin? You’re not just renting a room — you’re joining a built-in crew of good people who actually like hanging out. We’ve got 5 houses all within a few blocks of each other in East Austin. That means there’s almost always something going on — from backyard hangs to lake days to last-minute group dinners.


And because we’ve been hosting this way for 15+ years, there’s a whole extended crew of alumni still around Austin — always down for a good time and happy to welcome new faces.

That’s kind of our whole thing.

Moving to a new city can feel isolating — especially if you’re just here for a short season or working remotely. We try to take the awkward part out of meeting people by creating spaces where it happens naturally. Cookouts, happy hours, sunset paddles, lake hangs — we love keeping things casual, outdoors, and free (or close to it).

We also own a kayak and paddleboard tour company called www.boatsandbats.com. So naturally...we spend a lot of time on the water. If you’re living here, you’ll have easy access to our night tours — usually for free or super discounted — and there are always extra spots for your friends to join too.
