MEET the guys that make it happen
Traditional rentals weren't built for how people actually live
Meet your landlord, Aaron. He owns the houses and is the main point of contact. Hes traveled to over 50 countries and he's always coming up with new adventures to take friends and tenants out on. His unique world view will have you exploring Austin in a fun way with new friends right away. We know what it's like to need a place to stay — really need it — and still get turned away.
We spend a lot of time on the road. Between travel, work, and the kind of life you build when you're not tied to one zip code, we've rented everywhere and tried everything.
One of those times, we were trying to secure a rental. We had the money — we could have written a check for the entire year's rent right then and there. But the landlord wouldn't accept it. The requirement was salary verification at 3x the monthly rent, and without a traditional W-2 paycheck, we didn't qualify. Didn't matter that the full year of rent was sitting in our bank account ready to go. The answer was no.
It's a frustrating, backwards system that wasn't built for the way a lot of people actually live and work today.
Short-term platforms aren't the answer either
So we looked at the other options.
Airbnb works great for a long weekend. But try to stay a month — or two, or three — and you run into a whole different set of problems. Availability dries up fast. You book one place for six weeks and it ends in the middle of your stay, so you scramble to find the next one, then the next. You're living out of a suitcase inside your suitcase. Prices are all over the place. You're spending more time managing your housing situation than actually living your life.
That's Airbnb hopping — and it adds up fast, in money, in stress, and in time.
We built the option we wished existed
Fun House Austin exists because none of those options worked for us, and we figured they probably aren't working for a lot of other people either.
We offer furnished, flexible stays in Austin — month-to-month, no salary verification hoops to jump through, no income documentation required. If you can pay, you can stay. It's that simple.
Whether you're relocating, working remotely, between leases, or just spending time in Austin and want a real home base instead of a hotel or a string of Airbnb bookings — this is built for you.
We've been the person who needed this. That's why we built it.
Welcome to Fun House Austin.
